The 2nd Good Governance Forum

10 May 2007

Emirates Stadium, London

Building on the success of the first Good Governance Forum held in October 2006,this forum will identify what progress has been made on the recommendations that came out of the event. It will also provide an opportunity for delegates to discuss the latest developments in FE Reform and make recommendations to ensure emerging policy addresses the concerns of their college.

In particular, delegates will have a chance to contribute to:

(a) The Leitch Review
(b) The DfES/CEL Review of Recruitment and Diversity of FE Governors
(c) Self-regulation

The recommendations arising from the discussions will be put to a panel of representatives from various agencies.

Panel members include:
  • Lynne Sedgmore CBE, Chief Executive, Centre for Excellence in Leadership
  • Rob Wye, Director of Strategy and Communications, Learning & Skills Council
  • Susan Pember, Director FE Learning and Skills Performance Group, Department for Education and Skills
  • Andrew Thomson, Chief Executive, Quality Improvement Agency for Lifelong Learning
  • Sue Dutton, Deputy Chief Executive, Association of Colleges
  • Plus senior representatives from the Confederation for British Industry and HM Treasury

The outputs of the panel debate will then be summarised and published tohelp the agencies involved develop their policy.  A report of the key outputs raised will also be sent to Bill Rammell for his consideration.
