Position Papers

This page provides the position papers for the topics to be discussed at the second Good Governance Forum to be held on 10th May 2007 at the Emirates Stadium in North London.

At the first event held in London in October and attended by 200 governors, principals, clerks, senior managers and agency representatives, we were overwhelmed by the quality and quantity of good ideas and recommendations that were generated on the day.  Bill Rammell, The Minister for Further and Higher Education who attended the event commented on the extremely high levels of energy and enthusiasm that were in evidence. Such was the volume of comment that it was a real challenge to collate the information and use it effectively in the expert panel sessions during the afternoon.

Naturally we want to retain and indeed to raise our game even more at the next event but we want to be sure that we can handle all the feedback we get on the day and use it efficiently when we pose questions and ideas to the invited panel of experts.

So, we have issued these position papers on:
These papers also have links to websites that contain addition relevant background information.  We hope that by issuing them now you might have time to share these papers with your governing bodies and then provide us with some feedback, questions or ideas in advance of the Forum. These will then be collated and issued just prior to the event and used to shape the round table discussions and the Q and A with the panel.

Again we are trying to embrace the available technology and we would ask you to provide the responses, ideally using the SWOT template, using the bespoke blog site that can be found at www.blog.fegovernance.org. For guidance on how to use this simple blog click here. Using the site makes it easier for you to format your responses and it provides us with an efficient method of collating responses.

If you are not able to meet with your governing body, we would welcome your individual questions and ideas and if you are unable to use the blog please feel free to email your response to info@fegovernance.org
