LSG programme
| Designed for governing bodies, their members and their clerks, the portfolio of the Leadership Skills for Governance (LSG) programme provides sector-wide coverage and understanding of the leadership requirements of FE and sixth form college governing bodies. It provides a flexible, accessible and blended approach to its learning, concentrating on the particular knowledge requirements and learning styles of its participants. The LSG programme encourages participants to evaluate their roles, to distinguish differences between governance and management, and to explore how these roles combine to achieve the highest quality leadership for individual colleges and the wider FE system. The ultimate aim of LSG is to support governing boards in achieving sector self-regulation. The programme ensures that governing boards, as custodians of the sector's reputation, have access both to training and development opportunities and to information and advice. It also recognises that a strategic dialogue is required to set and monitor the standards the system must achieve. |
