The IOD and CEL are pleased to announce the opportunity for Governors to take part in a pilot project to take the IOD Diploma in Company Direction, which is a well known programme globally.
This is an ideal programme to take part in if you are a governor having served a minimum of a year on your board and intend to continue in your role.
The Diploma takes the form of 2 parts, the first is the IoD Certificate in Company Direction which comprises an integrated, modular development programme encompassing the knowledge and awareness necessary for directors and leaders of all types of organisation. The programme leads to the Certificate Examination, and courses are supported by a set of e-learning materials and revision tools.
The modules include:
- The Role of Company Director and the Board
- Finance for Non-Finance Directors
- Strategic Business Direction
- Effective Marketing Strategies
- People Mean Business
- Leading Strategic Change
On successful completion of the Certificate, participants can take The IoD Diploma in Company Direction which is designed to further develop and enhance a director's ability to apply the principles covered at certificate level and to bring to bear personal experience. A three day module, Developing Board Effectiveness, will be provided which, through the use of appropriate scenarios, will allow delegates to practice application, analytical skills and decision-making in a life-like but safe environment.
The Programmes benefit both the organisation and the individual. For the organisation, the programmes offer a visible commitment to the value of life-long learning and result in a deep rooted professionalism.
