Who should attend?

This qualification programme is designed specifically for Clerks to the Corporation within an FE college or equivalent provider institution. Those working at deputy level or those aspiring to become Clerks will also benefit from the skills and knowledge gained from the programme. As part of the governance development and support framework, the ICSA Certificate in FE Governance is a qualification programme specifically designed to develop the skills and knowledge of Clerks or Deputy Clerks to the Corporation within an FE college or equivalent provider institution. There is mno prior entry qualification. The learning approach is interactive with a combination of case study, presentation, role-play, self-managed learning, online resources and e-mail discussion forums. The course is delivered in an introductory day, followed by three two-day workshops. Assessment is by massignment and examination.

Unit 1 Procedures and Practices
Unit 2 Legal Requirements and Statutory Powers
Unit 3 Ensuring the Effective and Efficient Running
of the Corporation

Examination: Three hour written

Analyse group dynamics and develop behavioural skills to develop the clerk as a manager and leader of good governance
Provide a progression route for Clerks wanting to gain full membership of the ICSA.
