Good Governance Forum 4

Click here for the post event report

The focus for this good governance forum will be on understanding both the impact of the Framework for Excellence on colleges, and on governance. The Framework is a core part of the Government's work to raise standards and support key policies, particularly in relation to the skills of young people and adults. This event will provide not only an opportunity to hear from representatives from DIUS, LSC, OFSTED and the FE Self Regulation Project, but also to hear about the experiences from some of the providers who have piloted the whole Framework process. Opportunities for peer conversations and discussions are included, together with an opportunity to question our 'expert witnesses'. This event offers an important opportunity for governors and clerks to develop an understanding of the Framework for Excellence and its likely impact on their governing board and the work of their colleges.

Benefits of attending: Delegates will:

  •   hear from the strategic partners about how the Framework for Excellence will play a core part in the Government's work to raise standards
  •   understand how the Framework will provide a means by which they can benchmark themselves against standards of excellence
  •  hear from, and question, members of the senior management team in some of those organisations that have participated in the formal pilot of the whole Framework process
  •  Understand how the Framework fits within an evolving performance management system for self-regulation
  •  be informed of the impact of the Framework on colleges and governance
