All governing boards are required to draw up
- Code of Conduct
- Register of Members Interests
These documents must be completed and signed by all governors as a condition of their appointment.
All governors are expected to uphold high standards of public conduct and, to this end, the Code of Conduct will normally include the principles identified by the Committee on Standards in Public Life
- Selflessness
- Integrity
- Objectivity
- Accountability
- Openness
- Honesty
- Leadership
Governors renew their entry in the Register of Members' Interests on an annual basis and must ensure that they have no conflict of interests in any matters being considered by any meeting of the governing board or its committees at which they are present.
